This year’s 3M Open concluded over the weekends, with Tony Finau taking the win. The PGA Tour now shifts its attention to the next tournament on the calendar, the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
The fourth edition of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, one of the tour’s younger tournaments, will take place at the Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, MI, commencing on Thursday, July 28. The course is 7,370 yards long with a par of 72.
Last year, Cameron Davis defeated Troy Merritt and Joaquin Niemann in a three-way playoff to win. Time will tell which contestant emerges triumphant this time.

Best Bets for the Rocket Mortgage Classic in 2022
Tony Finau | +1300
As previously stated, Finau joins this year’s Rocket Mortgage Classic after winning the 3M Open over the weekend. It’s often wise to stick with the golfer who has the greatest momentum. It’s difficult to claim that it’s anybody other than Finau in this circumstance.
The good news for bettors is that Finau has been performing well as of late this season. In his previous six appearances, the 32-year-old has four top-15 finishes, including three T-4 finishes (including his 3M Open win).
Finau has only participated in the Rocket Mortgage Classic once at the Detroit Golf Club. This occurrence occurred in 2020, and he finished in 53rd position. Needless to say, he’s hoping for better luck later this week.
Nonetheless, it’s difficult to go wrong with Finau this week, particularly because most of the big names won’t be in town.
Will Zalatoris | +1600
Will Zalatoris is another intriguing bet to win the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic, with odds of +1600.
Despite the fact that the 25-year-old is still looking for his first victory of the season, Zalatoris has six top-10 results in his previous ten races. In fact, he’s finished in the top five in five of those tournaments, with his two best finishes being a second-place result in the PGA Championship and a T-2 finish at the US Open.
Zalatoris, like Finau, is a first-time competitor in this competition. His only event history is a 77th-place finish in the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Having saying that, Zalatoris is much too good to remain winless indefinitely. With the way he’s been playing recently, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him at the top of the scoreboard in Detroit when everything is said and done.
Cameron Davis | +3100
With a lesser field than usual, it’s difficult to ignore any prior winners. That’s why Cameron Davis, last year’s champion, is worth a look at +3100 odds.
Davis’ triumph last year came as a surprise given that he had failed to reach the cut in the previous two tournaments. Those poor results, however, were forgotten as the Australian shot 67 or 68 in all four rounds before winning the aforementioned playoff.
Davis has finished T-16 or better in each of his previous three tournaments, including a sixth-place finish at the Barracuda Championship. He hasn’t won since his previous trip to Detroit, so it’ll be interesting to see whether he can improve his luck starting on Thursday.
Sahith Theegala | +3700
If you want to get a little more out of your Rocket Mortgage Classic choice, try Sahith Theegala at +3700.
Though he did not make the cut in his one event debut in 2020, Theegala did score a 69 in Round 2, demonstrating that he has what it takes to play well at the Detroit Golf Club.
He also missed the cut in last weekend’s 3M Open, although he had finished T-16 or better in three of his previous five tournaments. His best finishes were T-5 and T-2 at the Memorial Tournament and Travelers Championship, proving that he can make a deep run.
With few other possibilities, Theegala is a dark horse with a chance to win it all this week.
