Donruss Threads Hobby Boxes
Donruss Threads hits store at the end of August each year and signals the start of the Pro Football season. These cards hold up well throughout the season and tend to retain their value as the year wears on.As mentioned in reviews of other Donruss sets, these cards have not changed too much from previous years. The star cards of the 2009 set, as always, are the Gridiron Kings cards which look excellent this year. The painted style is simple and elegant, making it a standout subset of the Donruss Threads set for 2009.
The rest of the subsets in the set are pretty typical, consisting of uniform pieces on various styles of backgrounds and design. Some of the subsets are a bit over the top, as we prefer a more simple design and some of the cards have a few too many parallels. Many of the autograph cards in this set are less than stellar, but the Gridiron Kings autographs really stand out in the set and are a must have. The same can be said about the relic cards, as the Gridiron Kings double swatch cards look great.
The top cards from these boxes that will hold the most value are the Gridiron Kings, the Rookie Collection, and the Letter cards.
